Our Mission:
Empower
Every child in India to be computer literate
Through our foundational and bootcamp programs, KidsWhoKode works with 35,000 students across 7 Indian states.
KidsWhoKode’s focus on peer-to-peer, hands-on application based learning has enabled a 90+% attendance rate across all our programs.
Every KidsWhoKode bootcamp graduate has completed the academic year in the top 5 of their class with significant improvement in Math and English scores.
KidsWhoKode blends the rigor of a for-profit business with the heart and idealism of a nonprofit organization.
KidsWhoKode does not raise funds nor do we charge our students.
KidsWhoKode partners with corporations, nonprofits, individuals, and schools. This has enabled us to scale without dipping in our impact metrics.
We invite individuals to interact with our students and visit our classes. We track impact metrics at a student, teacher, volunteer, school, district, and state level.
“Computers and coding is the only language that you can use to express yourself to 7 billion people in the world”-Tim Cook
KidsWhoKode takes a 3 pillar approach to ensure every child develops a robust understanding of computers and is provided with a supportive ecosystem to pursue his or her technology learning goals.
KidsWhoKode builds capacity in teachers, schools, and education nonprofits. Through this program students learn: how computers are structured, the basics of computers for business, logical/computational thinking, and the foundations of coding.
The Building the Foundations content begins with students in grade 5. The content can be customized and supports a maximum of 5 years of curriculum.
For students who are a part of the Building the Foundations program and who are interested in technology, KidsWhoKode offers an intensive coding bootcamp.
The KidsWhoKode bootcamp is taught by engineers from leading technology companies for 96-112 hours. Students build applications, websites, and mobile games using Python, Javascript, HTML, and CSS. They also experience how their classroom learnings are applied across industries through guest lectures and field trips.
Whether a student is a part of KidsWhoKode’s Building the Foundations or Rapid Transformation program, they should have a pathway to continue learning.
The KidsWhoKode platform hosts it’s content and curates online content. In addition to incorporating features of a traditional learning management system, the platform has engagement aspects i.e. online challenges, and virtual hackathons. The aim is that students stay motivated and excited to practice computers and coding.
